This test is a multiple choice format. There are two parts to the test. All questions are taken on the computer. 1 ) Theory test 2 ) Hazard perception.
When you start the theory test, you will notice for each question there will be several possible answers, you need to pick the correct one. With this being said some questions may require more than one answer. On the test you can move between questions and flag questions that you may want to come back to later in the test.
The pass mark for this test is to get at least 43 of the 50 question correct, with a time of 57 minutes to finish the test.
When you have completed the motorcycle theory test you will then move onto the hazard perception test. It’s worthwhile to point out that you’re allowed a 3 minute break before you start the final test.
Before you start the hazard perception part, you’ll be shown an introduction video clip about how the test works. It will then proceed to a series of video clips on the computer screen.
For each clip you will be presented with different situations on public roads. Each road clip contains at least one developing hazard. You must click the computer mouse button when you first see the hazard developing into a serious situation.
If you click continuously or in a pattern during a clip a message will appear at the end. It will tell you that you have scored zero for that particular clip.
The total marks for the hazard perception test is 75 and you will need to get at least 44 out of the 75 to pass.
